Last night, like Cinderella at the ball, media producer JD Harmeyer was transformed by his fairy godmother – Ronnie Mund – from a dumpy Television addict into a beautiful, beautiful princess. Or at least into a dumpy television addict in a suit.
The night he had waited years for had finally arrived: He was escorting the beautiful Beth Stern to the premiere of "Gravity."
Like any gentleman, JD picked Beth up at the Sterns' apartment, she was astonished at how well he had cleaned up, exclaiming "You look great!" While a less-secure man would tell Beth that she too looked great, JD - the vision of confidence - responded with "thanks."
Ten steps later, Beth had to ask him herself how she looked.
The two fake-lovebirds held hands on the red carpet, with photographers snapping away, a few of them booing at JD and asking him to step out of the shot, probably because they were jealous.
JD and Beth were seated next to news icon Dan Rather, which makes two poised, well-spoken television professionals and JD.
The pair put on their 3D glasses and enjoyed the movie.
Howard joked that the one thing that annoyed him was people approaching JD at the premiere and saying "Howard, you look great!"
