The office exploded this morning when Howard read the results of our internal poll to determine who is the most (and least) most popular member of the staff among their coworkers.
We learned that Lisa G is the least liked according to the results (though Lisa G herself did not vote in the poll because she was "too busy"). Jon Hein was the most liked and surprisingly, Howard Stern - whose mere existence gives the rest of us careers, paychecks and lives - finished fourth.
The fireworks started when it was revealed that Steve Brandano scored everyone on his own curve. Instead of using the same 1-10 scale everyone else used, Steve would only give people a 4, 5 or 6. Six if he likes you, four if he doesn't, and five if he has no opinion.
So even though names were redacted when the results were released, it was easy to pick Steve's scores from the rest because they were all 4, 5 or 6. That's when Jason Kaplan - who thought he and Steve were best friends - found out Steve gave him a 4.
Jason was upset and did not hold back on the air, explaining how hurt he was, again*, that someone he thought was his friend apparently doesn't like him. Steve said that he and Jason have an excellent working relationship but claimed Jason has "changed" and he doesn't hang out with him as much anymore.
Jon Hein - creator of the staff poll - is yet another staffer who does not hold back his feelings for Jason
The Jason-Steve feud wasn't the only fallout from the poll. Howard was miffed that JD Harmeyer - who he stops and says hi to every morning - gave him an 8 out of 10. Howard was curious about the process that led to JD giving him anything but the highest score.
Howard wonders who is nicer and has provided more to JD than him? We're still waiting for an answer.
Some other stats of note:
* Both Benjy and Howard gave everyone 10's across the board, which of course went against the spirit of the game. (One other person did that as well but has not come forward).
* JD gave himself a 5 which probably kept him from finishing #1 overall
* Only Lisa G, Benjy, Ralph Cirella, Jason and Fred received scores of 2 or less.

*A few years ago, Jason was taken aback on air when he found out his former roommate and long time coworker Will Murray had serious issues with him and didn't consider him one of his good friends. Both Will and Jason have used that argument as a way to rebuild their relationship, and today on the air Will came to Jason's defense and said they were more than cool with each other.
