Steve Hirsch, the owner of Vivid Video called up this morning to promote Vivid's new SiriusXM Channel Vivid Radio on Channel 102. But more importantly, he called to give his evaluation of what Vivid would pay for each staffer's sex tape.
JD could get $25,000 for a sex tape.
Benjy and his girlfriend could probably net $50,000.
High Pitch Erik and Wendy the Retard together could reach $50,000.
Hirsch would love Vivid to put out a whole Wack Pack Orgy film with everybody banging away. "I'd do that in a minute."
Fred and Gary could each take home $100,000, though Gary thinks he'd be more valuable than Fred because he's a bigger star.
Robin, the most sensual woman in the world, would get $2 million.
A Howard tape could fetch them $10 million.
The number one, the granddaddy, the biggest sex tape of all time: Howard and Robin for a cool $15 million. Howard said there would be anal and squirting and 'jug play' and Steve said it's the sex tape everyone has been waiting for.
As for the porn industry outside of the Stern Show, Steve says he's doing well. The industry is suffering a little because it has to compete with free content, but he hopes quality will prevail.
Steve would love to do another video with Jenna Jameson. He thinks they could do huge business together. Even though she's not in her twenties anymore, the classic girls still sell.
The condom law in Los Angeles – as well as the recent fight to hold porn sets to the same standards as operating rooms – does affect the industry. Steve said they're fighting the 'goggles and masks' rule, but the condom rule is in effect and, consequently, most porn operations have moved out of LA county, which will have an impact on the Los Angeles economy. Vivid used to have a self-imposed rule that actors had to wear condoms, but their sales dipped 30%. The whole industry, according to Steve, is so strict about testing for STDS that there hasn't been one case of HIV transmitted on a legitimate porn set in the past eight years.
Steve cited the Kim Kardashian sex tape as the most successful celebrity porn of all time – earning tens of millions of dollars and still earning. Steve said that Kim didn't want the tape released, but when it got to a point where it was going to be released on the internet, Kim came to an agreement with Vivid and made out nicely.
Octomom turned down $1 million to do a video for Vivid at the height of her fame. Now, Steve says he wouldn't pay her $50 to do one.
Finally, since Steve dated Melissa Rivers, Howard wanted to know what he'd pay for a sex tape of Melissa going down on her mother, Joan Rivers. Steve said that's illegal and he'd go to jail. Plus, who would want to see that?
