Howard has often made fun of guys who play Fantasy Football (hell, he even mocks guys who are committed to any real-life sports teams), so it may have seemed surprising when he wanted to interview Matthew Berry, the Fantasy Football expert.
Matthew has joined the Stern Show Fantasy league, which includes Gary Dell'Abate, Jason Kaplan, Steve Brandano, Will Murray, Jon Hein, JD Harmeyer, Scott Salem and Tapes Team Executive Producer David Heydt.
Jerry O'Connell used to have Matthew's spot in the league but the Stern crew booted him because he wasn't taking it seriously. Howard understood why he wasn't taking it seriously, he's banging Rebecca Romijn.
Ironically, Tapes Team Executive Producer David Heydt is now the player who annoys the rest of the league the most, because he takes it too seriously, showing up to their "War Room(!)" with a binder and questioning everyone else's picks.
Not surprisingly, Scott "The Engineer" Salem is in the league and doesn't do well. In fact, the legend is that anybody he picks gets injured soon after. Scott said he can't devote as much time as the rest of the guys because he's busy working, but he must have been joking.
JD Harmeyer has come in dead last for the last two years, which Matthew pointed out is actually harder than winning. JD would like to expand the league from 10 to 12 people, including a porn star that he has been grooming. It seems that he's so consumed by Fantasy Sports and porn that he doesn't have time to enjoy them separately anymore.
Howard's fantasy is that the staff stops wasting its time playing games.
