The biggest movie star in the world Robert Downey Jr. made his triumphant return to the Stern Show studio on Tuesday. He spoke twice at the Howard Stern Birthday Bash, but it’s been a while since Howard and Robert have had an in-depth conversation on the air. Here are some of the highlights from their interview:

Howard heard a rumor that, while filming the cult 1985 film “Weird Science,” Robert once defecated in co-star Kelly LeBrock’s trailer. As Robert explained it, however, the incident actually involved another actress in the film and stemmed from a desire for him to prove he was outrageous. After it happened, producer Joel Silver lined everyone up and demanded to know the culprit’s identity. Robert didn’t admit it was him and instead said he wished he had been the one who did it.

Robert is happily married to his lovely wife Susan, but he was once in a long-term relationship with Sarah Jessica Parker – the two were together for seven years. Howard asked if they still speak and Robert said he plans to make it a point to try to see her while he’s in New York. Howard asked how Sarah Jessica’s husband Matthew Broderick would feel about that and Robert said he’d ask Matthew if it was all right.

Robert recently said in an interview that he would only do another “Iron Man” film if Mel Gibson directed it. Howard didn’t understand that comment, and Robert clarified it was much more offhanded than it came across in print. He said there are no plans at all for an “Iron Man 4,” though he is friends with Mel.

Robert also opened up about a sex scene he filmed with Leighton Meester in their new critically acclaimed film “The Judge,” revealing that he’s not like most other actors when it comes to shooting those types of scenes.

Robert told Howard about several upcoming films, including a secret project which he couldn’t reveal on air and a retelling of the Pinocchio tale where Robert would play Geppetto. Robert said the project is “off the ground” and he even asked Howard and Robin if they would make cameo appearances. Howard joked he wasn’t interested in a cameo, however—he’d prefer the role of Pinocchio.

Howard and Robin told Robert they both loved “The Judge” and they weren’t the only ones. Howard reported the screening they went to was chock full of critics and everyone applauded wildly. Watch the trailer here.
