Soundgarden's front man Chris Cornell called in this morning to promote the live airing of the band's Superunknown concert on Howard 101 this Friday night.
To mark the 20th anniversary of their smash hit album, they played it in its entirety at Webster Hall. Howard, who has long been a fan of live music radio which was popular when he was a kid - like 'King Biscuit Flower Hour' – so he offered to air the entire concert on his channel.
Chris was in Tel Aviv, yet his phone signal was very clear – way better than King of All Blacks, who is right in New Jersey.
Howard and Chris talked for a few minutes about how excited they were to give the kids a taste of what rock radio used to be like and Howard asked him about one of the tracks off of Superunknown called 'Half'. Chris finds the song incredibly difficult to sing and play live, but he's working on it.
You can hear him play 'Half' and everything else on Superunkown, as well as all of Soundgarden talking about the process of making the seminal album – Friday night at 10 PM (EST) on Howard 101.
