The border’s baddest motorcycle gang is painting roses black in the debut teaser for “Mayans MC,” FX’s much-anticipated “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff rolling into living rooms later this year.

Set to a Spanish-language cover of the Rolling Stone’s “Paint It, Black,” the clip for the Kurt Sutter and Elgin James-created drama (above) shows a pack of Mayans Motorcycle Club members cruising down a stretch of California highway so fast they’re making flowers wilt.

While the short sneak peek doesn’t delve into any plot points—or even feature any of the character’s faces—a few key details about the upcoming series have already been revealed. The series takes place after the events of “Sons of Anarchy” and follows Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo), a newly paroled prisoner who lives near the California-Mexico border and becomes a “prospect” for the Mayan MC, a rival motorcycle club featured prominently on “Sons of Anarchy,” which concluded in 2014.

Sutter memorably joined the Stern Show in 2013 along with his wife, Golden Globe-winning actress and longtime “Sons of Anarchy” star Katey Sagal. In addition to discussing his upbringing and early career, Kurt talked to Howard about plans to end “Sons of Anarchy” after Season 7. He also shared a long-gestating idea he had for a “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff, though at the time it seemed Kurt was leaning more toward a prequel than a sequel series about a rival gang.

“Mayans MC,” co-starring Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, and Michael Irby, debuts this fall on FX. Watch the first teaser (above).
