“Wicked’s” original good witch brought a bit of grace and magic to the Stern Show studio on Monday as Kristin Chenoweth joined Jon Hein and Gary Dell’Abate for a very special edition of Stern Show Summer School. The Tony-winning legend and star of Broadway’s upcoming “Queen of Versailles” musical spoke candidly about a range of topics, including singing the national anthem at Game 7 of this year’s NBA Finals and the craziest thing to ever happen to her during a live performance.

“I was doing a show called ‘Babes in Arms,’ and I had like 17 costume changes in 6 minutes, wigs and everything,” Chenoweth recalled of her wildest on-stage moment. “I came tapdancing down the staircase … I’m like, ‘It feels kind of airy up there on my head’ — there was no wig. It had fallen on the steps.”

“The best part of it is everyone in the audience obviously sees it, and they’re kind of laughing and pointing, and I went with it,” the superstar continued, adding, “If you [laugh about] it and enjoy it too, the audience can then enjoy it … and you can all laugh together.”

If that wasn’t glorious enough, the talented actress and musician also serenaded the Stern Show’s very own Robin Quivers with a very special rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Check out the clip (below).

“Queen of Versailles” opens Nov. 9 at the St. James Theatre on Broadway.
