VIDEO: JD Harmeyer Shows Off His Super Mario-Themed Lego Set
“Your living room sounds like a pre-school,” Howard laughs, “You got any Play-Doh over there?”
September 29, 2025JD Harmeyer may be legally classified as an adult, but that doesn’t stop him from filling his home with children’s toys. On Monday, Howard revealed his longtime media producer had taken up a new summer hobby: collecting and constructing intricate Lego sets.
“It’s almost like painting, in a way,” JD told listeners while waxing poetic about the “Jaws” and Super Mario-themed sets he’d begun building.
Howard wasn’t sure the comparison was apt. “You’re gonna just build something that somebody else built? Somebody chopped it up, and now you’re trying to put it back together — and you think that’s like painting?” he asked.
“It’s like paint-by-numbers, basically — that’s what it is,” JD clarified.
“Your living room sounds like a pre-school,” Howard observed. “You got any Play-Doh over there?”
Lest anyone think he was coasting all summer, JD assured his colleagues that building Lego sets was trickier than it appeared. “I got stuck on a part and didn’t build anything for two months,” he admitted. “Sometimes the things don’t fit.”
And when JD finally did show off one of his masterpieces — the Super Mario Piranha Plant set — the pieces immediately started falling off.
“Don’t hurt it,” co-host Robin Quivers cautioned. “It’s your legacy.”
