“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” “Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay.” “Jersey Shore Massacre.” Stern Show staffer Richard Christy has already cobbled together an impressive list of film credits, but his career as an actor very nearly soared to new heights this summer after getting cast in the comic-book blockbuster “Superman.” Unfortunately, his scenes didn’t make the film’s final cut.

Chatting with Wrap Up Show co-hosts Jon Hein and Gary Dell’Abate — on the very same day “Superman” director and co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn spoke with Howard — Richard revealed he spent three days shooting his scenes. It was only later he learned that his character would be left on the cutting room floor. “I was bummed … but that happens,” Christy explained. “Every time you film a movie that’s a possibility that you’re not going to make it in.”

Ultimately, Richard respected the filmmaker’s decision. “Movies, they’ve got to move quick, and I totally understand what I did in the movie didn’t really matter to the bigger picture,” the staffer concluded.

While theatergoers sadly missed out on his DC Studios debut, the Stern Show has obtained an exclusive look at Richard Christy’s deleted “Superman” scene. Check it out (below).
