Bob Moore, the general manager of the station in Los Angeles that airs the show, called in to say farewell.
Howard pointed out that Bob has gone out of his way to make the show successful in Los Angeles since it started there in the early 1990s, and that he doesn’t get enough credit for all he’s done.
Since the show launched in Los Angeles around the same time as Magic Johnson’s HIV announcement and the riots, Howard remembered getting many calls from Bob who was worried for his own safety because of the comments Howard was making about those events.
Howard went on to say that his biggest regret is that he didn’t get to work with Bob on a daily basis. Howard explained that he and Bob had similar ideas about the show, and that he was sure Bob would’ve handled something like the cart controversy that has surfaced the past few weeks differently than Tom Chiusano.
After Bob didn’t deny the validity of Howard’s claim, Gary reported that Howard’s praise of Bob has always bothered Tom. Howard proceeded to inform Bob that he’d miss working with him, and that he hopes they cross paths again after the move to satellite.
