A RACIST’S APOLOGY

A RACIST'S APOLOGY

August 25, 2006
As an introduction to the next clip of Billy West doing his Marge Schott impression, Gary explained Marge was the owner of the Cincinnati Reds in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and she used to make the news for her constant anti-Semitic and racist remarks. Jon then played the tape, which took place in 1992, and featured Marge apologizing to “all the n*ggers” and “money-grubbing Jews” for her insensitive comments. When the tape was done, Gary said he thought Billy was really able to capture Marge’s anger, while also remembering how Billy once refused to do his Marge impersonation during the riots in Los Angeles out of fear for his safety.
