Howard Explains How He Gave Horrible News to His Parents

Howard talked about the time he had to go to his parents’ house to tell them he was getting divorced.

Howard recalled he broke the news to his parents in their television room, which he added was the place where his father was most miserable because it was where his mother made him watch shows he didn’t want to see. Howard then noted his father still went to the track all the time, and that he brought salmon, sardine or tuna fish sandwiches with him when he did.

This led Artie to comment he felt guilty for how infrequently he visited his mother, who he also reported had just retired from her job as a secretary. Artie then said he wished his mother would find someone to date, explaining he was sure she hadn’t been with anyone since his father passed away.
