Did Jackie ‘the Joke Man’ Martling Invent ‘Anal’?

Howard played a clip in which Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling claimed responsibility for the show’s use of “oral” and “anal” in place of the more complete “oral sex” and “anal sex.” Jackie explained that this happened back at the height of KROCK’s FCC paranoia when Tom would routinely dump anything with the word “sex” in it.

Howard couldn’t understand how Jackie could lay claim to a commonly used truncation, and Fred laughed: “I think Jackie’s been alone for far too long.”
