When Jonah Hill visited the Stern Show on Wednesday, he also spoke to Howard all about his wild time filming “Get Him to the Greek,” including when rapper and co-star Puff Daddy begged him to bring his friends over so they could all go out together.
Jonah told Howard he brought over four friends and unsuccessfully tried cutting the ice with the very large bodyguard standing at the door. “I’m like, ‘Hey, did someone order five Jews?’ Not a smile. Not a one,” Jonah recalled.
As Diddy and Jonah’s groups bonded, Kanye West and music video director Hype Williams walked in and joined the crew. They later all headed out to the club. According to Jonah, Diddy was clutching a bottle of vodka while riding shotgun in Jonah’s car. “He’s going through my CDs, throwing them out the window, like, ‘This sucks, this sucks,'” Jonah told Howard.
When they got to Sunset Boulevard, Diddy started smashing Jonah’s leg down on the gas pedal. “He goes, ‘Hey man, you ever driven with a gun in the car?'” Jonah continued. “And his friend in the back goes, ‘How about two guns?'”
After they’d finished filming the movie, Jonah learned Diddy was just trying to replicate their characters’ on-screen relationship. “He was totally f-ing with me,” Jonah told Howard. “He didn’t say [the vodka] was water.”
The pair later met up in Las Vegas to hang out for real. Jonah tried breaking the ice in a packed elevator and apparently blew it again: “I go, ‘How about we press stop and all suck each other’s dicks?'”
Everyone in the elevator—including hip-hop mega producer Jermaine Dupri—rode on in silence. “I learned a real lesson that night,” he told Howard. “That shit doesn’t fly in the hip-hop community.”
Jonah said it only got worse after they reached the casino floor. “I see Diddy pull Jermaine Dupri aside and say, ‘He’s usually pretty funny.'”
