Early in the show, Howard fumed about the Penn State scandal and the support Joe Paterno seems to be getting from the students: " 'JoPa' is a scumbag...[and] this McQueary is too. They deserve everything they're getting in spades."
Howard felt the cover-up was endemic to patriarchal systems like football: "There's a jock mentality. It's the same mentality how the Catholic Church, you know, how they circled around all the priests."
Howard said the most amazing thing he learned about Jerry Sandusky was that he lived across the street from a school playground.
