Howard Could Be On SSI

Early in the show, Howard talked with a caller on government assistance and speculated that he’d be in the same boat without radio: “You know I could get SSI.” For example, Howard said a man outside his apartment had shaken his hand this morning: “I’m like, ‘Oh no, He shook my hand.’ Now I’m obsessing that I’m going to get sick, that germs are not crawling up my arm…” When he got to work, Howard had hoped to wash his hands in his private bathroom, but he didn’t have enough hot water. After Scott DePace reported that Sirius XM cut Howard’s water heater plans for budgetary reasons, Howard fumed: “I’m the enemy around here because I dared to ask for my money…what did they do? Lower the stock price?” Howard eventually asked Robin to calm him down: “Help me relax. Come over here and relax me.”
