Tommy Mottola swung through to plug his new book, ‘Hitmaker,’ and denied rumors that he was nearly cast as an ‘X-Factor’ judge: “I’ve always seen myself as someone more behind the scenes than in front of the camera.” Tommy said he and Simon Cowell were “very close friends” and spoke about it for months, but, “I would not want to be not myself and have to be animated beyond what my normal personality is.”
