Dr. Bauman’s Magical Beard Transplants

Dr. Alan Bauman called in to the show from sunny Boca Raton, Florida to talk briefly about a new phenomenon – beard transplants.

Dr. Bauman has been performing hair transplants for years, but now – thanks to hipster beards and ‘Movember‘ – people are ponying up for a more masculine look.

Dr. Bauman’s business is still primarily the hair on the top of the head, but he now does about two beard transplants per month. Each one is done with micro-instruments and takes between four and five hours.

Howard asked him questions like if he uses pubes for beard transplants? No, but he has used pubes for regular hair transplants. (FYI – we have!)

Have you done beard transplants on women who were transitioning to male? No, but he has filled in the hairlines of men transitioning to women.
