Amy Poehler Is a Great Guest, We Swear

TV and movie star Amy Poehler is an enormous fan of Howard and the Stern Show. So much so that she was terrified to come on – she was nervous about being a lousy guest.

Fortunately (for us and for her) Amy’s charisma and sense of humor shone through.

Here are some of the many highlights from Howard’s interview with Amy:

Amy is obsessed with celebrity wack packer Tan Mom and does a spot on impression of her. ‘Oh, get over yourself!’ Amy croaked. ‘You’re not that pretty!’ The best part about Tan Mom, Amy said, was her attitude and the fact that her outrageous tan is the least interesting thing about her.

She also does Mariann from Brooklyn, and she demonstrated by yelling ‘Robin, how dare you not know that Eric the Actor died!’

Amy admits in her book that she’s a huge fan of getting her p*ssy eaten. ‘If you don’t eat p*ssy,’ she writes, ‘keep walking.’

Naturally, if you give it good to Amy Poehler, she’ll give it good to you. She admitted to loving sex and being very good at it. She’s non-judgmental in the bedroom and would even dress up like a cat if Howard asked her to – but she did think the idea was cheesy.

The only time Amy ever ‘broke’ out into laughter during her tenure at Saturday Night Live was during the amazing ‘Debbie Downer’ sketch starring her friend Rachel Dratch. Amy still has the sketch on her TiVo and watches it when she’s depressed.

Amy is recently divorced from fellow comedic actor Will Arnett, but it sounds like everything was pretty amicable. Still, divorce is never easy. Amy pointed out that it’s getting so common that the sympathy you get is lessened, but the pain of divorce is as strong as ever.

One time she accidentally went on a date with John Stamos. Amy was never dating during the age of text messages so, after her divorce from Will Arnett, things got a little confusing. Stamos asked her if she wanted to hang out and she showed up at dinner in a work outfit. By the time she realized that it very well might be a date, it was too late. They did not make love.

She has dabbled in drugs in the past – cocaine, mushrooms, ecstasy – but only smokes the occasional weed nowadays. ‘Cocaine is a great drug if you want to hang out with people you don’t know very well and play ping pong all night’, Amy said.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has beaten Amy for the Emmy Award several times, which seems to be just fine with Amy. She has more fun as an Emmy loser than she would as an Emmy winner. As an Emmy winner, she’d have to deal with everyone saying ‘Julia Louis-Dreyfus really should’ve won’, whereas being an Emmy loser, she gets ‘Amy, you really should’ve won.’

As for the Stern Show staff, Amy definitely has her opinions. She loves media producer JD Harmeyer and thinks that Howard and Robin should cool it on grilling him about his new girlfriend because it will only f*ck it up. She’s no fan of writer Benjy Bronk and she is thoroughly creeped out by Sal – even Amy, who admits to liking porn, has her limits when it comes to her categories – yes on lesbian porn, no on piss porn.

The bottom line is Amy is the best and we can’t wait to see what she comes up with after Parks and Recreation ends it’s final season.

Check out her first book, ‘Yes, Please’ which comes out tomorrow.
