FEBRUARY 13, 1998: STEVE GRILLOS LAST DAY

On this date in 1998, legendary Stern Show intern Steve Grillo baked his last potato for the King of All Media. Grillo had been with the show for six years and although he tried to turn microwaving food into a career, he decided it was time to move on to a paying job. Steve spoke about the aspects of the job that he loved so much: the art of timing deliveries perfectly, the charm it takes to have a diner clean off their grill to make Howard's breakfast, the innovation of buying two containers of orange juice so he could test one for sourness. Howard gave Grillo a check to thank him for his years of service, but admitted that he'd like to take back dedicating his book "Miss America" to Steve.
