“You don’t have to show up Kristin Chenoweth,” he teases longtime co-host
The Oklahoma City Thunder might have pulled off an impressive NBA Finals series win against the Indiana Pacers, but for Howard the MVP might have to go to actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. After listening to the Tony winner’s powerful Game 7 rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” he praised her efforts. “Boy, she puts her whole being into that fucking song — every song,” he observed on Monday.
“Wow,” co-host Robin Quivers noted. “I’m trying to decide how many octaves up she went.”
Of course, Robin once recorded her own rendition of the national anthem — which sticks with Howard to this day. “I like your version better,” he admitted before joking about Robin outshining the “Wicked” star. “Robin, it’s not a competition. You don’t have to show up Kristin Chenoweth.”
“When are they going to call me?” Robin wondered with a laugh.
