Ba da ba ba ba — he ain’t lovin’ it.
“Fast Food Maniac” author and beloved Stern Show staffer Jon Hein told Howard he has a bone to pick with McDonald’s after the ubiquitous eatery stopped running one of his favorite french fry specials.
“They have a promotion where, if you use the app on Fridays, you get free medium fries … and then the first Friday of 2026 — it’s gone,” Hein told Howard on Tuesday. “And I was not pleased.”
Indeed, he seemed downright McFurious. “I wanted to lodge my complaint and let them know that, as a loyal customer, I think it’s a mistake getting rid of ‘Free Fry’ Friday,” he continued.
As disappointed as Hein was, he assured colleagues his days of devouring free Ffrench fries aren’t necessarily coming to an end thanks to all the points he has accumulated on the fast-food restaurant’s app. “I have enough points to continue Free Fry Friday for the rest of the year if I want to,” he declared.
“Jon Hein has enough points to buy a McDonald’s franchise,” Howard added with a laugh.
