Bravo star was surprised by scope of media reaction

When Bravo star and SiriusXM host Andy Cohen agreed to help Howard with a simple prank recently, he had no idea it would make so many headlines. During a surprise appearance on Wednesday’s Wrap Up Show, he told hosts Jon Hein and Gary Dell’Abate that he didn’t think the media would pick up on it the way it did.
“That was the thing [that surprised me],” Cohen said. [CNN host and friend] Anderson Cooper could not believe it.”
“I didn’t see that coming,” Gary agreed before adding he was shocked that even the Associated Press fell for it. “They feed the world,” he pointed out of the news agency.
To that point, Andy told Gary and Jon he’d had “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski on his Radio Andy program and she spoke of how they were also duped. “When it hit the AP they were like, ‘This is legit,’” he recalled her admitting. “It’s so funny, you guys.”
