VIDEO: Jon Hein and JD Harmeyer Debate Raising Cane’s Vs. Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s ‘Tendys,’ and McDonald’s New Gold Sauce

It was a real Sophie’s choice for fast-food loving Stern Show staffer Jon Hein on Wednesday when he was instructed to pick his favorite chicken joint. “Is Raising Cane’s better than Chick-fil-A?” Howard asked him point blank.

“If I had to choose one right now I’d probably go Raising Cane’s over Chick-fil-A,” Jon responded before explaining why he also preferred Cane’s over fried-chicken stalwart KFC. “When the Colonel passed away, actually, [KFC] lost some of that original appeal that it always had, and I think other competitors came along and challenged it.”

And what about the much-discussed new chicken tenders offering, Wendy’s “Tendys”?

“I think Wendy’s ‘Tendys’ is a ridiculously stupid name,” Jon declared.

His colleague JD Harmeyer begged to differ. “It’s funny,” JD said of the new menu item before conceding he “might be a little easily manipulated” by fast-food marketing campaigns.

Then it was Jon’s turn to get defensive after his colleagues goofed on the so-called fast-food expert for failing to try McDonald’s new limited-run Gold Sauce. “I am not a self-proclaimed expert,” the “Fast Food Maniac” author insisted.

“What?!” co-host Robin Quivers countered. “You wrote a book!”
