Kate Hudson’s recent Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role as one half of a Neil Diamond tribute band in “Song Sung Blue” came as a surprise to many, including Kate Hudson. One person who was not surprised? Howard Stern.
Back in December, as he was getting ready to sit down with her co-star Hugh Jackman, Howard predicted as much. “I’m not bullshitting you. Kate Hudson will win an Oscar — she’s at least going to be nominated,” he told co-host Robin Quivers at the time.
Howard went on to say he knew it within the first 25 minutes of the movie. “This is the role of a lifetime for her … awards are definitely in store,” he noted before adding, “And her singing is exceptional.”
