Marvel’s X-Men universe is about to get a little wider on TV, thanks to the premiere of FOX’s new series, “The Gifted.” Monday, the studio dropped the trailer for the series, which is tentatively set to premiere in fall 2017 (above).

The series takes the franchise away from Charles Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters in favor of a suburban setting, where a couple realize their children possess mutant powers. While the X-Men references are not explicit in the trailer, fans will note the mention of the “Brotherhood” and the name Lorna Dane (played by Emma Dumont), who is the daughter of Magneto. Bryan Singer, who has some X-Men-related experience, will direct the pilot. “The Gifted” also stars Stephen Moyer (“Shots Fired”), Amy Acker (“Person of Interest”), Sean Teale (“Reign”), and Jamie Chung (“Gotham”).

The show will be the second X-Men-related live action show on a Fox network, following FX’s “Legion.” Read more about the series here.
