After a six-year hiatus, Larry David's “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is only a few months away from its big comeback.
HBO released a brief teaser Monday revealing an Oct. 1 return date for its Emmy-winning comedy series. Echoing the statement David made when Season 9 was first announced last June (“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned’”), the single-gag video shows the series' star and creator dressed as the infamous Roman emperor.
The rest of the “Curb” crew will be returning for the upcoming 10-episode season as well, including Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman, and past Stern Show guests Jeff Garlin and JB Smoove. Ted Danson and his real-life wife Mary Steenburgen will also reportedly return in guest appearances.
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of ‘Curb’ and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” HBO programming president Casey Bloys said in a statement.
Both Garlin—who also executive produces on the series—and Smoove have dropped by the Stern Show to talk ad-libbing on “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” And in 2015, David sat down with Howard for a long discussion about the show, as well as stand-up comedy and his other Emmy-winning series, “Seinfeld."
