VIDEO: Arnold Schwarzenegger Busts Out His Bazooka in ‘Killing Gunther’ Trailer

Hitman comedy co-stars “Saturday Night Live” veterans Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam

Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his action-hero roots in the official trailer for “Killing Gunther,” an explosive hitman comedy blasting its way into theaters later this year.

He plays Gunther, the world’s greatest hitman, who finds himself targeted by a bungling group of assassins. Of course, death-defying action isn’t new territory for the actor, fitness enthusiast, and repeat Stern Show guest. Before becoming Governor of California, Arnold was best known for his roles in bullet-filled blockbusters like “Commando,” “Predator,” “True Lies,” and a handful of “Terminator” films. In the trailer (above) we see Arnold getting back to basics—spraying bullets, ripping the doors off refrigerators, and blowing up buildings with a bazooka.

Written and directed by “Saturday Night Live” veteran Taran Killam, the film also co-stars him, his wife Cobie Smulders, his “SNL” colleague Bobby Moynihan, Hannah Simone (“The New Girl”), and Kumail Nanjiani (“The Big Sick”).

Arnold tweeted out the trailer Tuesday, saying he was “pumped” to be sharing it with fans:

When Arnold rejoined the Stern Show in 2015, he spoke with Howard about a variety of topics, including his action career, his career in politics, his infamous house parties, and even pop star Miley Cyrus. Check out Arnold and Howard’s conversation about playing the Terminator (below).

“Killing Gunther” is available Sept. 22 on VOD and Oct. 20 in select theaters.
