A surging Colombian drug cartel sets its sights on the United States in the official trailer for “Narcos” Season 3, hitting Netflix in September.

The trailer (above) opens in the post-Pablo Escobar era, as a Cali Cartel lieutenant (Pepe Rapazote) gets a haircut and a shave under the watchful eye of Lady Liberty. He’s an unwelcome guest, however, and soon enough bullets are flying.

This season follows the rise of the Cali Cartel and four of its major players: the leader, Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar); the brains, Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela (Francisco Denis); a hitman and distribution chief, Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann), and the cartel’s new man in New York City, Chepe Santacruz Londono (Rapazote).

In addition to rivals in the drug trade, they must also contend with an increasingly ambitious D.E.A. that has closed the books on Escobar and is now zeroing in on the Cali Cartel’s massive operation. “It was fucking cocaine incorporated,” Agent Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) explains in a voiceover. “They ran it like a Fortune 500 company.”

“Narcos” Season 3, also featuring Michael Stahl-David, Matt Whelan, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Kerry Bishé, and Arturo Castro, arrives Sept. 1 on Netflix. Check out the official trailer (above).
