The classic sitcom, starring Roseanne Barr and John Goodman, returns March 27 to ABC

Sunday night’s 90th annual Academy Awards had something for everyone, even fans of classic sitcoms.

ABC dropped a brand-new trailer during the telecast for its much anticipated “Roseanne” revival, starring Stern Show veterans Roseanne Barr and John Goodman, 2018 Oscar-nominee Laurie Metcalf (“Lady Bird”), and the rest of the iconic ’90s show’s original cast.

The 60-second spot (above) pays homage to the original series while also featuring footage from the new season, including several self-referential jokes about how the world has changed during the 20-year interim. In one joke, Dan (Goodman) wonders why everyone always thinks he’s dead—a reference to “Roseanne’s” original final season which revealed his character had died of a heart attack.

Goodman, a Stern Show celebrity superfan, has sat down for interviews with Howard on multiple occasions. The actor visited the show most recently in 2016 to discuss his sci-fi movie “10 Cloverfield Lane,” though he and Howard wound up discussing a wide array of topics during the visit, including his work on “Roseanne.” Listen to a clip from John and Howard’s interview (below) and check out their full conversation here.

”Roseanne,” also starring Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman, Lecy Goranson, and Sarah Chalke, returns to ABC on Tuesday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the trailer (above).
