Brandi Carlile Is Taking It to the Seattle Streets in New ‘Hold Out Your Hand’ Music Video
Song hails from singer, songwriter, and recent Stern Show guest’s album “By the Way, I Forgive You”
June 4, 2018Brandi Carlile has dropped the official music video for “Hold Out Your Hand,” a single off the folk-rock singer and recent Stern Show guest’s recent album “By the Way, I Forgive You.”
Directed by Kathlyn Horan, the video was filmed on March 24 during Seattle’s March for Our Lives rally in which high school students and their supporters took to the streets to protest gun violence against children. In addition to footage of Brandi performing at the political rally, the clip (above) features shots of young activists marching, holding up signs, and demanding that legislators recognize an epidemic of gun violence in America.
“We can’t allow ourselves to be divided and conquered any longer by organizations that profit from our division,” Carlile said in a statement about the song posted to her website. “The students behind March for Our Lives in Seattle made this video. This is me amplifying them.”
When Brandi made her Stern Show debut in April, she opened up to Howard about her early days in Seattle, revealing before she was headlining concerts she was busking in local restaurants for free. “I’m a real hustler,” she told Howard. In addition to a wide-ranging interview, Brandi and her bandmates also put on a concert live from the Stern Show studio. Check out their performance of her hit single “The Joke” (below).
