Foo Fighters surprised fans on Thursday night at Florence, Italy’s Firenze Rocks Festival when the past Stern Show guests welcomed Guns N’ Roses legends Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan onto the stage to deliver a devastating rendition of the latter band’s classic single “It’s So Easy” (above).

Hailing from their 18-times platinum debut “Appetite for Destruction,” “It’s So Easy” was the band’s very first single. Coincidentally, it’s also the first song GN’R played when they put on an exclusive, three-hour concert for SiriusXM subscribers last year at New York’s Apollo Theater.

While Thursday’s all-star team-up in Italy was magical, it’s wasn’t the first time the bands have crossed streams in concert. A similar surprise appearance occurred stateside in 2017 when Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joined GN’R on stage in Tulsa, Okla., for a rocking rendition of “Paradise City.” Axl also made headlines recently after taking the stage with Billy Joel to cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

Both bands are in the midst of massive world tours, with Foo Fighters supporting their recently released “Concrete and Gold” album and Guns N’ Roses performing across Europe ahead of their forthcoming “Appetite for Destruction” reissue. Firenze Rocks Festival, meanwhile, extends through Sunday, with Guns N’ Roses set to headline Friday night with their own full set. Watch more clips from their Foo Fighters team-up (below).
