VIDEO: Paul Rudd Gets a Winged Partner in First ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Trailer

Stern Show guest's superhero sequel co-stars Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas

Size still matters in the debut trailer for “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” the follow-up to Marvel’s lighthearted 2015 movie starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a superhero whose powers include shrinking down to the size of an insect, communicating with ants, and also sarcasm.

In the official trailer for the next installment (above), we see Scott’s love interest Hope (Evangeline Lilly) has now become his crime-fighting partner—the Wasp. Ant-Man has been on the job longer and has enjoyed memorable encounters with several Avengers in the process. But he’s miffed after learning Hope’s dad Hank Pym (Michael Douglas)—the genius behind the shrinking technology—has outfitted the Wasp with cooler gadgets, like wings and blasters.

When Rudd visited the Stern Show in 2015 shortly after the release of “Ant-Man,” the actor spoke to Howard all about making the film and what it’s like to play a small superhero on the big screen. He also shared his story of working alongside Marvel legend Stan Lee. “[I]t’s like the president … he’s the guy,” Paul explained to Howard.

Listen to a clip from their conversation (below).

“Ant-Man and the Wasp,” also starring Michael Peña, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michelle Pfeiffer, hits theaters July 6. Watch the official trailer (above).
