VIDEO: Alec Baldwin Cautions Tom Cruise Against Going Rogue in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ Official Trailer

Long-running action franchise’s next installment opens in theaters July 27

IMF agent Ethan Hunt's past has apparently come back to haunt him in "Mission Impossible - Fallout," hitting theaters in July.

This week, Paramount Pictures and Skydance dropped the explosive official trailer for the long-running franchise’s latest installment. While the video (above) remains vague on many of the details surrounding Ethan’s (Cruise) next impossible mission, it does boast a bevy of explosive set pieces as well as a multitude of new and returning characters, including “Justice League” star Henry Cavill, who seems to be playing a ruthless assassin.

“There cannot be peace without first a great suffering. The greater the suffering, the greater the peace,” Sean Harris, one of “Fallout’s” returning villains, explains to Cruise’s character early on in the trailer (above). “The end you’ve always feared is coming … and the blood will be on your hands.”

Never one to admit defeat, Cruise’s character spends much of the trailer’s remaining two minutes diving headfirst into trouble—whether that means out of an airplane, off a motorcycle, through a window, or onto a helicopter. Thankfully, he has a few familiar faces in his corner to help him, including Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Stern Show regular Alec Baldwin, who made his debut as Ethan’s boss Alan Hunley in “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” and returns this time with some cautionary advice about going rogue.

When Alec stopped by the Stern Show in 2015, he spoke to Howard all about working alongside Cruise in the franchise. Check out a clip from their conversation (below) and get more on the interview here.

“Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” also starring Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, and Michelle Monaghan, is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and hits theaters July 27. Watch the official trailer (above).
