The trailer has arrived for the star-studded remake of one of the 1970s most iconic fright fests.
On Monday, Amazon Studios dropped the teaser for “Suspiria,” its 2018 homage to Dario Argento’s infamous horror film. While the video (above) is light on plot, it’s chock-full of creepy imagery, including dancers climbing up walls, a face covered in dirt, and a foreboding hook. It also boasts big-name actresses Dakota Johnson (“50 Shades of Grey”), Chloë Grace Moretz (“Kick-Ass,” “Carrie”), Mia Goth (“A Cure for Wellness”), and Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton,” “Doctor Strange”), as well as Jessica Harper, star of the 1977 original.
According to the trailer's description, “Suspiria” follows a world-renowned dance company enshrouded in a swirling darkness which causes some troupe members to succumb to the nightmare and others to “finally wake up.”
Directed by Oscar-nominated Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (“Call Me by Your Name”), “Suspiria” opens on Nov. 2. Watch the terrifying trailer (above).
