Mark Wahlberg-produced HBO comedy series returns on Aug. 12

August 3, 2018

Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Stern Show celebrity superfan Rob Corddry take their show on the road on Season 4 of HBO’s sports-management comedy “Ballers,” returning later this month.

The critically acclaimed series’ newly released trailer (above) shows Spencer (Johnson) and Joe (Corddry) saying goodbye to Miami and hello to Los Angeles, where they’ll look to expand their horizons and client roster in the world of action sports. In addition to dealing with surfers and skateboarders, they’ll also be forced to contend with Stern Show veteran Russell Brand, who this season makes his “Ballers” debut as a character named Lance Klians. The duo also encounters a few new challenges this season with their current crop of football clients as the teaser (above) hints at the show tackling the hot-button, real-life issue of protesting during the national anthem.

“Ballers” was created by Stephen Levinson and is executive produced by Levinson, the Rock, director Peter Berg, and repeat Stern Show guest Mark Wahlberg, among others. In addition to the Rock and Rob, the show co-stars John David Washington, Omar Benson Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, London Brown and Brittany S. Hall.

“Ballers” Season 4 debuts Sunday, Aug. 12 at 10 p.m. on HBO. Watch the official trailer (above).
