Smashing Pumpkins just released a brand-new song, “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts),” and revealed the existence of a full-length album “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun,” arriving in November.

“Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)” is the second single off the freshly reunited rockers and recent Stern Show guests’ forthcoming eight-track LP, recorded at famed producer Rick Rubin’s Shangri La Studios. It follows “Solara,” which Smashing Pumpkins performed live on the Stern Show in June during their most recent visit.

It’s been a huge year for Smashing Pumpkins and their fans already with frontman Billy Corgan reconnecting with founding band members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin for the first time in 18 years to record new music and tour the globe. The band debuted its new-look lineup on the Stern Show, performing live on air and telling Howard all about how the reunion happened and how great it felt to make music together once more.

“I looked across the room at James … it was like looking through a tunnel back through all those years and I just was like, ‘I can’t believe we’re back in the same room and we’re making music. This is so cool,’” Billy told Howard.
