Chloë Sevigny and Stern Show veterans Bill Murray and Adam Driver play three mild-mannered police officers forced to defend their small town from a ruthless invasion of coffee and Chardonnay-loving zombies in “The Dead Don’t Lie,” the latest film from acclaimed director Jim Jarmusch.

The trailer begins with the Centerville officers responding to a call at a diner. The staff and patrons have been brutally murdered by the undead, and the authorities are left to try and piece together what happened. “This is really awful, maybe the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” Murray says after examining the crime scene.

“Well, was it wild animals?” Sevigny wonders.

“I’m thinking zombies,” Driver deadpans.

He’s right, of course, and before long the zombies take over much of the neighborhood. They gravitate toward things they enjoyed while they were still alive, according to Driver’s character, leaving a zombified version of punk icon and longtime Jarmush collaborator Iggy Pop lusting for a pot of coffee while zombie Carol Kane wanders around mumbling “Chardonnay!” like most of the undead might typically grumble “Brains!”

Other celebrities appearing in the star-studded trailer include Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Danny Glover, Wu Tang Clan’s RZA, Rosie Perez, Tom Waits, and Tilda Swinton, who plays a sword-wielding undertaker who’s more than capable of defending herself during the zombie apocalypse.

2019 looks to be a big year for Driver. In addition to “The Dead Don’t Die,” the actor was up for an Oscar in February for his work in Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman“ and will reprise his role as the villain Kylo Ren in December’s “Star Wars: Episode IX.” When he sat down with Howard in 2015, Adam told Howard all about how he landed his coveted “Star Wars” role. Take a look back at the interview here.

“The Dead Don’t Die” opens June 14 in theaters.
