The war may be lost for Jessica Jones, but the Marvel heroine still has one last battle to fight.

On Thursday, Netflix debuted the trailer for the third and final season of “Jessica Jones,” starring Krysten Ritter as the titular booze-swigging, super-powered private detective who suffers very few fools.

The teaser shows Jones facing off against a new enemy in Gregory Salinger (Jeremy Bobb), a psychotic genius who in the comics becomes the villain Foolkiller. Their deadly game of cat-and-mouse begins with a phone call. “Jessica Jones, you’re a cheater,” Salinger tells her. “You were given every advantage. Allowed to make mistake after mistake. You can’t control yourself. You have no discipline, just brute force.”

“What do you want?” she asks him.

“I want you to die,” he responds.

Regardless of whether she gives him what he wants, “Jessica Jones” Season 3 represents her character’s final batch of episodes on the streamer. It also represents the curtain call for all of Netflix’s Marvel series, following the recent cancellation of “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” and Jon Bernthal’s “Punisher.” Ritter won’t be making her last stand alone, however, as Jessica once again gets help from an odd bunch of quasi-allies played by Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, and Rebecca De Mornay.

“Jessica Jones” Season 3 debuts June 14 on Netflix.
