Cardi B and J. Lo Teach Constance Wu How to Give a Steamy Lap Dance in New ‘Hustlers’ Trailer

Stripper-focused crime comedy debuts Sept. 13

September 3, 2019

Cardi B knows all about making money moves, and in a new trailer for the upcoming crime comedy “Hustlers” the stripper turned rapper and actress teams up with Jennifer Lopez to show Constance Wu how to give a proper lap dance.

Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria and produced by Lopez, Adam McKay, and Will Ferrell, among others, the film is based on the real-life events of several Scores dancers profiled in a 2015 New York magazine article. The story follows a group of strippers who lie and cheat their way to fortune by hustling some Wall Street big shots. The strippers are led by Ramona (Lopez), a veteran exotic dancer who takes a liking to a new girl named Destiny (Wu) and shows her all the tricks of the trade.

The clip begins with Lopez introducing Wu to Diamond (Cardi B), a Bronx stripper with the best moves in town. “We’re gonna help her learn how to do a real dance,” Lopez says (above).

“Oh, I’m good at that,” Cardi responds as she takes a seat so Wu can climb onto her lap.

Set to the sounds of Cardi B’s song “Money,” the trailer shows the group of gals—which also includes Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, and Lizzo—embarking on a wild ride which has them crossing paths with cops, emergency rooms, and more money than they can count.

Cardi B made her Stern Show debut in 2018 and her wide-ranging conversation with Howard covered everything from her astounding music career to her pregnancy and her relationship with her parents. Their discussion also touched upon her early days spent in strip clubs. “I feel like a lot of people want me to lie and be like, ‘I hated it,’” Cardi told Howard of her days as an exotic dancer. “I don’t tell girls to go do it, but … it really saved me.” Watch a clip from the interview (below).

“Hustlers” premieres Sept. 7 at the Toronto International Film Festival before taking the main stage in theaters everywhere on Sept. 13.
