VIDEO: Sansa, Arya, and Jon Snow Reunite in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Teaser

HBO’s Emmy-winning drama returns April 14 for its final run

January 14, 2019

Spring is coming, though not as fast as most “Game of Thrones” fans would like.

HBO’s Emmy-winning swords, dragons, and zombies drama dropped the teaser for its eighth and final season over the weekend along with a long-awaited premiere date—April 14.

Set to ominous quotes from seasons past, the new teaser (above) gives “Game of Thrones” fans something they’ve clamored for since Season 1—a Stark family reunion. The short clip shows Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and their resurrected half-brother Jon Snow (Kit Harington) traversing Winterfell’s subterranean crypts as they pass statues memorializing dead family members and fallen allies. The trio eventually comes together just in time for their torchlights to offer them a glimpse of something even more haunting—statues of themselves.

It’s unclear whether the dreamlike sequence is footage from an actual “Game of Thrones” episode or if maybe the Lannisters and Targaryens will get similar teasers ahead of the Season 8 premiere. Regardless, fans of the show have plenty to unpack as they prepare for the final battle between fire and ice.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8, also starring Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, and Lena Headey, debuts April 14 on HBO.
