VIDEO: Pig Masks and Poker Take Center Stage in Sammy Hagar & the Circle’s ‘Can’t’ Hang’ Music Video

Song hails from the supergroup’s upcoming concept album “Space Between”

Sammy Hagar & the Circle has released the music video for “Can’t Hang,” a song off the supergroup’s forthcoming concept album “Space Between.”

While the clip features plenty of bright lights, high-stakes poker games, and drunk men in pig masks, it begins with Sammy issuing a sober warning into the camera. “If you can’t hang like that then don’t get involved … don’t try and play with the big boys because, man, they will chew you up and spit you out,” he says before the rocking commences.

Sammy, who has found quite a bit of success over the years as Van Halen’s frontman, as the solo artist behind “I Can’t Drive 55,” and now as the lead singer of the Circle, certainly has had no trouble hanging with the best of them. He confirmed as much on Tuesday when he and his bandmates Vic Johnson, Michael Anthony, and Jason Bonham sat down with Howard to share their stories and music on the Stern Show.

In addition to talking about their band’s new album and debuting the song “Can’t Hang,” the band performed a live, in-studio rendition of Van Halen’s “Finish What Ya Started,” which Michael and Sammy co-wrote when they were in the band. The guys also shared quite a few epic stories from their heyday and explained how their lively pasts helped shape the band they would eventually become.

“We’re like a festival in one night. That’s why we call it the Circle … no one’s in front of you, no one’s behind you, no one’s above you, no one’s below you in a circle,” Sammy told Howard.

Sammy Hagar and the Circle’s new album “Space Between” arrives May 10. Pre-order a copy here.
