Miley Cyrus dominates the stage as a purple-haired pop star in the first look at “Black Mirror” Season 5, debuting next month on Netflix.

The techno-focused anthology series released a new trailer on Wednesday for its upcoming three-episode season, featuring Cyrus alongside guest stars like “Avengers: Endgame” hero Anthony Mackie and “BlacKkKlansman” villain Topher Grace. While the plot-lines of the episodes aren’t immediately clear, we see Mackie as a family man sneaking around on dating apps, Grace as a sad-looking dude rocking a man bun, and Cyrus as a musician who seems overwhelmed with trying to please her fans.

Seeing as how Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ critically acclaimed sci-fi drama essentially deals in technology run amok, it’s no surprise the short trailer also features disparate shots of everything from creepy dolls designed to boost young girls’ self-confidence to an immersive virtual reality game allowing people to shoot fireballs at each other as if they were “Street Fighter” characters.

When Miley made her Stern Show debut in December, the Grammy-winning superstar broke a good bit of “Black Mirror” news during her conversation with Howard. In addition to confirming her role on the series, she revealed her scenes were filmed in South Africa and her role had more to it than meets the eye. “I play one character, but I play a lot of different sides of that character and there’s a lot of dimension to it,” Miley explained.

Additionally, she said the shoot went really well. “It was the first time that I’ve left somewhere feeling really proud of my work,” she told Howard. Get more of their conversation here.

“Black Mirror” Season 5 arrives June 5 on Netflix.
