Stern Show veteran Tina Fey, “Mad Men’s” John Slattery, and Oscar winner Anne Hathaway are all struggling to make a human connection in “Modern Love,” an upcoming anthology show from John Carney (“Sing Street”) based on a weekly New York Times column of the same name.

Debuting in October on Amazon Prime Video, the romantic-comedy series reportedly aspires to explore love in various forms, including sexual, platonic, romantic, and even self-love. Other actors starring on the show include Andy Garcia (“Book Club”), Sofia Boutella (“The Mummy”), Catherine Keener (“Get Out”), Julia Garner (“Ozark”), Dev Patel (“Slumdog Millionaire”), and Wrap Up Show veteran Shea Whigham (“Homecoming”).

The show’s first teaser only offers a few quick cuts from some of the episodes, including Hathaway shopping for groceries in a sparkly dress, Whigham strolling through a park with a woman, and several shots of Fey and Slattery who at times look smitten and other times appear to be at their wits’ end—like when she chucks a tennis ball at him out of frustration.

Fey has visited the Stern Show several times over the years, most recently in 2016 when she opened up about everything from attending the Oscars to her “Mean Girls” musical, which eventually earned over 10 Tony nominations.

“Modern Love” premieres Oct. 18 on Amazon Prime Video.
