John Cusack, “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson, and Stern Show veteran Cory Michael Smith are neck deep in a dangerous conspiracy involving pandemics and comic book prophecies in the official trailer for “Utopia,” arriving Sept. 25.

Written and executive produced by Gillian Flynn (“Gone Girl”), the eight-part Amazon thriller was adapted from a UK show of the same name and follows Jessica (Sasha Lane) after she learns her favorite graphic novel is somehow connected to a real-life super virus which could wipe out mankind. Consequently, she and a group of youngsters set off on a high-stakes adventure pitting them against a shadowy organization and the seemingly diabolical Dr. Kevin Christie (Cusack).

“If you want to stay alive, come with me,” Jessica tells her new friends (above). “They’ve killed every single person who’s seen Utopia.”

The show co-stars Desmin Borges, Javon Walton, Dan Byrd, and Christopher Denham. It marks the first series regular role for Cusack, though not for Smith who famously embodied the Riddler for many seasons on “Gotham.” In 2018, the actor told Howard all about how he landed the role as the iconic Batman villain. Listen to a clip from their interview (below).
