Scarlett Johansson squares off against a brand-new enemy in the latest trailer for her standalone superhero prequel “Black Widow,” opening May 1.

The new clip (above) shows the Stern Show veteran teaming up with Oscar-nominated “Little Women” star Florence Pugh to take down Taskmaster, an iconic mercenary from the Marvel comic books. Scarlett, who once again plays Black Widow, does the lioness’s share of the fighting while her old friend Yelena Belova (Pugh) offers the occasional assist.

“Natasha, my sister, after all this time what brings you home?” Pugh asks at the trailer’s outset.

“I’m on the run,” Johansson’s character responds, referencing the events in Marvel’s 2016 film “Captain America: Civil War.” “I was trying to do something good—be more than just a trained killer,”

“You’re fooling yourself,” Pugh quips over high-flying heroics, a glut of gunfire, and plenty of explosions. “We are both still trained killers.”

Directed by Cate Shortland, “Black Widow” co-stars “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour and “The Favourite’s” Rachel Weisz as well as William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and O-T Fagbenle. Stern Show veteran Robert Downey Jr. is also reportedly set to make a cameo as Iron Man.

“Black Widow” opens May 1.
