VIDEO: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 Trailer Signals the End for the Zombie Drama

The first leg of new episodes debuts Aug. 22 on AMC

The trailer for the 11th and final season of “The Walking Dead” has arrived and it’s as bloody as ever.

Opening with past Stern Show guest Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan haunted by the “bad memories” of old demons, we soon find out that the community of Alexandria needs its residents to save it. Severely affected by the bloodshed left by the Whisperers, the town’s survivors need to secure more food for its ever-growing population.

The clip also introduces a gang of masked foes known as the Reapers and gives fans a new look at the Commonwealth survivors by way of an eerily cheery promotional video. Sandwiched in between the introductions, of course, is also a healthy dose of carnage and destruction.

Season 11’s cast includes veterans Morgan, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, and Seth Gilliam, along with newcomer Josh Hamilton. While it begins in August, the final season will be split into three parts before concluding sometime in 2022.

Season 11 of “The Walking Dead” premieres on AMC+ on Aug. 15 and on AMC on Aug. 22.
