The only thing standing between Jonah Hill and the woman of his dreams is Eddie Murphy in the upcoming comedy “You People,” debuting later this month on Netflix.

Hill plays Ezra, a lovelorn guy whose fortunes change after he stumbles into the car of a beautiful woman, Amira (Lauren London). The two fall for each other quickly, but cultures clash and complications arise after their parents — played by Murphy, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and David Duchovny — get involved.

“This is your white grandaddy coming back to haunt me,” Murphy tells his wife upon meeting Hill’s character.

Directed by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and co-written by Barris and Hill, the film also features Molly Gordon, Sam Jay, Mike Epps, Deon Cole, and Rhea Perlman. Though best known for his work in front of the camera, Hill has also made quite a name for himself as a writer, producer, and director in recent years. In 2018, the Hollywood star opened up to the Stern Show about his directorial debut “Mid90s,” telling Howard, “I like to make things challenging for myself … I could have had a very easy career coasting through … just doing the same thing over and over again.” Watch a clip from the interview (below) and check out Jonah’s full conversation with Howard here.

“You People” debuts Jan. 27 on Netflix.
