VIDEO: Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton Go ‘Nuts’ as Batman in New ‘Flash’ Trailer
“Justice League” spinoff zooms into theaters on June 16
April 27, 2023Two different Dark Knights team up with the world’s fastest man in the new trailer for “The Flash,” zooming into theaters on June 16.
Ezra Miller stars as the Flash in the film — spun off from DC’s 2017 superhero team-up “Justice League” — which follows the iconic comic book speedster as he turns back time to right a childhood wrong and inadvertently messes with the multiverse in the process. As a result, he soon finds himself fighting alongside not only Ben Affleck’s Batman, who appeared with him in the “Justice League” film, but also Michael Keaton’s Batman, who hasn’t been seen on the big screen since he battled Danny DeVito’s Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman in Tim Burton’s 1991 classic “Batman Returns.”
“I have to undo what I did,” Miller’s character says at one point over a montage of action and spectacle that also features the likes of Supergirl (Sasha Calle) and “Man of Steel” villain General Zod (Michael Shannon).
“The scars we have make us who we are. We’re not meant to go back and fix them,” Affleck’s Batman reminds him.
Directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, “The Flash” also stars Ron Livingston, Antje Traue, Kiersey Clemons, and Maribel Verdú in addition to Affleck, who spoke memorably about his run as Batman during his 2021 Stern Show debut.
